Freedom House is a 501(c)(3), not for profit organization. It was started in 1992 by a handful of Green Bay churches in order to address the growing issue of homelessness. Its first building housed four families on North Irwin Avenue. In 2004, Freedom House moved to its current 17-room facility on St Anthony Drive where it tripled its capacity to serve all types of homeless families with children in the greater Green Bay/Brown County area.
