How is Freedom House Funded?

We are grateful for the faithful individuals, churches, businesses and foundations that support our work. Only a small portion of our funding comes from the federal government as administered through the State of Wisconsin.

Transparency and fiscal responsibility are keys to maintaining your trust. Each year, our finances are audited by an outside local accounting firm. Our most recent audited financial statements are reviewable below.

In 2011, Freedom House earned the accreditation of the Evangelical Council of Financial Accountability (ECFA). ECFA provides accreditation to leading Christian nonprofit organizations that faithfully demonstrate compliance with established standards for financial accountability, transparency, fundraising, and board governance. We have successfully maintained our ECFA accreditation every year since 2011.

In 2013, we partnered with the National Christian Foundation (NCF), a Christ-centered organization that “helps generous givers ... simplify their giving, multiply their impact, and experience the joy of sending more to their favorite causes than they ever dreamed possible.”
